How to Clean a Mogu Pillow

Bead-filled Mogu pillows, some of the most comfortable pillows ever, conform to the body or head. Mogu pillows come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. The pillow cover fabric isn't removable but you may still want to clean the pillow of dirt and stains. Cleaning a Mogu pillow involves using great care.

Things You'll Need

  • Gentle detergent
  • Wash Basin
  • Soft Rag
  • Old towel

Spot Cleaning

  • Create a mixture of one tablespoon of mild laundry detergent and a cup of cool water. Stir the solution to make some bubbles.

  • Dab a soft rag into the solution and gently work in circles on the stain. Don't soak the pillow fabric excessively. Repeat the gentle scrubbing to until the stain is removed.

  • Apply a spray spot removed sparingly to a soft rag and use this on stubborn stains. Make sure to rinse the spot remover completely.

  • Rinse out the cloth with clear water and wipe the soapy water off the pillow. Rinse the rag and repeat until the soap is removed.

  • Place the pillow in a flat location to dry. Never place the pillow in the dryer.

Complete Cleaning

  • Fill a basin with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent.

  • Spot clean any stains, using a damp, soapy rag or spot remover.

  • Immerse the Mogu into the basin and allow it to soak. Don't wring the pillow but you can agitate the water slightly.

  • Run cool water over the entire pillow to remove any soap. Gently squeeze the pillow to remove soap after repeated rinses.

  • Roll the pillow inside a clean, old towel and gently twist to remove excess water. Do not wring the Mogu but instead, place it on a flat surface to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mogu pillows shouldn't be cleaned in a washing machine. However, if you choose to try the washer, use a delicate cycle and cold water. Never place the Mogu into the dryer.
