Perfume is a collection of chemicals designed to make a woman smell good. There are many combinations of chemicals, and each is designed to make different-smelling perfumes. When a perfume is worn correctly, it does the job it was intended to do. If the perfume is worn incorrectly, however, it can irritate your sense of smell and even give you a headache. If you have been near someone who was wearing too much perfume, you might be stuck getting rid of the perfume odor once they leave.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vinegar Baking soda Plain unscented candles Rubbing alcohol Empty spray bottle Air purifier
  1. Step 1

Open all of your windows. The best way to get rid of bad-smelling air is to replace it with fresh, clean air. Place an oscillating fan in the room to help circulate the fresh air coming in.

  2. Step 2

Fill two bowls of vinegar and place them in the room that has the perfume odor. Vinegar absorbs odors and will get rid of the perfume smell. This is true for baking soda, too. You can leave two boxes of baking soda out instead of the vinegar, or you can put them both out to speed up the process.

  3. Step 3

Set several plain, unscented candles around the room with the perfume odor. Light the candles and let them burn for two to three hours. You don't want to use candles that have a fragrance as these will add to the smell in the room instead of taking the odor away.

  4. Step 4

Pour some rubbing alcohol in an empty spray bottle and spray it around the room with the perfume odor. The alcohol will neutralize the perfume odor and get the room smelling back to normal.

  5. Step 5

Purchase or borrow an air purifier. Set it up in the room that has the strong perfume odor and turn it on. Leave the air purifier on overnight, and when you get up the next morning, the odor will be gone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Charcoal has the ability to absorb odors. You can place a few bowls of charcoal in the room with the perfume smell and leave them overnight. In the morning, the smell will be gone.
  • Do not use air fresheners to get rid of the perfume odor. It will only add to the odor and make the smell worse.
