        The first step to cow pooling is to find several people who are interested in going into the cow pool. Between 2 and 3 families is an ideal number for a cow pool.

        The second step is to contact a private farm and work out the contract for the cow pool. The people who have gone in together will have a cow slaughtered and divide up the meat.

        The third step is to sit down with everyone in the cow pool and decide which families will get which cuts of meat. An ideal way to do this is to give each family in the cow pool and equal number of premium cuts and less desirable cuts as well, this way there is no complaining that one family got better pieces than another family.
