How to Clean a Titanium Watch

Titanium is a popular metal for many types of jewelry because it is lightweight and hypoallergenic. However, because titanium is slightly softer than other jewelry metals, it can get scratched with frequent wear. Fortunately, there is a way to clean your titanium watch and remove scratches at home rather than paying for a professional to touch up your timepiece.

Instructions

1. Remove any scratches from the surface of the titanium. Rub the ink eraser lightly over the scratches. They will disappear from the surface after several passes. Do not scrub, but rather run the eraser down the length of the scratch in the same direction each time.

2. Moisten the toothbrush. If your watch is not waterproof, then just barely moisten the toothbrush and to avoid scrubbing the face or back of the watch.

3. Scrub the watch links and any other titanium surfaces with a small amount of toothpaste and the barely-moist toothbrush. The toothpaste will act like a polishing agent and remove dirt and grime.

4. Rub the titanium surfaces clean with the lint-free cloth. Be very careful to get into all the nooks and crannies in the strap so that you do not end up with toothpaste left on your watch. The watch should look as bright and shiny as new.
