Instructions

    • 1

Soften your loofah by placing it in a container with hot water. Softening your loofah is not always necessary. You should only do this if your loofah feels too rough against your skin.

    • 2

Begin exfoliating at your décolletage. Do this with circular motions across your skin, and continue down to your feet. Be firm but gentle. You should not be too rough or soft on your skin. When done correctly, exfoliating with a loofah is a beneficial part of your beauty regimen that can yield promising results for your skin.

    • 3

Rinse off the soap. If the weather permits, rinse with cold water, as it helps to close your pores and give a refreshed feeling. If you are about to go to sleep, rinse with warm water to help you ease into sleep.

    • 4

Follow your shower or bath with moisturizer. Though you need to use soap to remove accumulated dirt, scrubbing with soap actually dries up your skin so it is important to moisturize afterward. Added benefits of moisturizing with body lotion include prevention of wrinkles and stretch marks.

Tips & Warnings

  • Exfoliating with a loofah is not enough in your skin care regimen. Use skin products with Vitamin E, and regularly apply sunscreen. Periodically wash your loofah. Bacteria accumulate in the loofah. Wash by rinsing the loofah with clean, warm water. Remove excess water by squeezing and patting it dry with a towel. Leave it to dry completely. For more intensive cleaning, wash your loofah in the dishwasher.
