Snoopy is the cartoon beagle owned by Charlie Brown in the Peanuts comics. This beloved character can be the theme of a birthday party. Give Snoopy a starring role at your next celebration by creating a Snoopy birthday cake. This cake is a simple version for those who are amateur bakers. It begins with a pre-baked frozen pound cake and is finished with Snoopy figurines or toys. You will not have to be an expert in icing to make this dessert.
Things You'll Need
- 1 frozen pre-baked pound cake, thawed
- 1 can white icing
- 1 tube black decorator icing with writing tip (See Tips)
- Snoopy cake topper, toy or figurine
Place the thawed pound cake on a serving platter and use the spatula to spread the icing from the can over the entire surface.
Use the writing tip on the decorator icing to write "Happy Birthday" on the cake. You also might want to write out the child's name.
Draw an outline of Snoopy on top of the white iced cake with the black decorator icing (Refer to the images in the link in the Resource section below.). This step is optional and best for those who are able to draw well with icing. If you do not do this, you can still have a Snoopy birthday cake by using the figurines.
Place the Snoopy cake topper or figurine on top of the cake so that it does not cover the writing.
Tips & Warnings
- Decorator icing comes in tubes with tips attached. You can usually find this next to the other icing and cake mixes in a grocery store, but they can also be found in craft stores that sell cake decorations. Look in the baking aisle at the grocery store, at a craft store or in the toy section for small Snoopy figurines or cake toppers. You might even have a fast food toy in the shape of Snoopy which could be used.
