Sheer curtains are an effective decorating tool. The lightness of the fabric not only allows light to enter the room, but also allows you to drape and use the curtains in other ways as well. In addition, they come in a wide variety of colors and are quite inexpensive. Make the most out of your sheer curtains by using them for more than just windows, in every room in the house.
Things You'll Need
- Sheer curtain panels
- Curtain rod(s)
Drape sheer curtains over curtain rods so that they "swoop" down from the rods, and let the excess fabric hang down on either side. This makes a great frame for any window, although it does not provide privacy.
Accent a small window by hanging one sheer curtain from a rod, then pulling it back to one side only. This will make the window look bigger without overwhelming it.
Drape your sheer curtain over a table or fold it and lay it down the center of the table. Sheer curtain panels make great tablecloths or runners for a party or other function.
Lay a sheer curtain panel over a bedspread. The pattern of the bedspread will show through, but the curtain panel will give it a new and unique look. Alternately, drape it just over the foot of the bed.
Create a canopy out of sheer curtains by hanging a rod from the ceiling over the bed, then draping the curtain over it. Pull down the sides of the curtain so that each side hangs down on one side of the bed, like an inverted "V."
