Wooden furniture is a beautiful addition to any room in your home. Wooden tables, in particular, are not only attractive, but functional as well. Sadly, it does not always take much to scratch wood. Sliding a glass across it, for example, can scratch and damage the finish. Fortunately, no matter if it's light or dark in color, you can remove scratches from a wooden table. And it won't cost a lot to do it. Read on to find out how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wax furniture crayons
  • Clean, soft cloth
  • Old English Furniture Polish and Scratch Cover
  • Restorz-It Wood Finish Restorer
  • Orange Glo Wood Cleaner and Polish
  • Pointy, black permanent marker
  • Iodine
  • Shoe polish
  • Floor wax
  1. Step 1

Use wax furniture crayons to remove light to deep scratches from wood. Choose a color that best matches the color of your table. Rub the crayon into the scratches to fill them. Wipe the excess wax away and your wooden table is as good as new.

  2. Step 2

Wipe Old English Furniture Polish and Scratch Cover across your wooden table with a clean, soft cloth. You'll need to wipe over the entire table so it all matches. This colored liquid will make the scratches on your furniture virtually disappear.

  3. Step 3

Wipe Restorz-It Wood Finish Restorer on your wooden table to remove scratches. Wipe it on with a clean, soft cloth and it will restore the finish. You will need to wipe over the entire table so it all matches.

  4. Step 4

Pour some Orange Glo Wood Cleaner and Polish onto a clean, soft cloth. Wipe it onto your entire wooden table to cover scratches. This product not only makes your wood furniture beautiful again, but it also adds the fresh scent of oranges to the air.

  5. Step 5

Remove scratches from a black wooden table by using a pointy, black permanent marker. Use a pointy, red permanent marker or dab iodine on mahogany furniture. Some companies, like Sharpie, make permanent markers specifically for touching up wood.

  6. Step 6

Use shoe polish to remove scratches from your wooden table. Choose a dark color to match dark finishes or a neutral color for light wood.

Tips & Warnings
  • Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions on store-bought products to achieve the best results. You can find all the products mentioned at your local grocery or at a home improvement store.
  • Always test a colored product on a hidden place on your wooden table to make sure it's going to match first.
