Stylishly decorating a bedroom that has red walls is easy with the right decor, bedding and furniture. Although the color red is bold and dramatic, it mixes well with a variety of materials, fabrics and colors. Red walls can enhance a bedroom with a retro vibe, or a room with an artistic, crafty flair. Several decor styles will work well in bedrooms featuring red walls.

Things You'll Need:

  • Wood furniture
  • Black furniture and accessories
  • Flowers, vases
  • Bedding
  1. Step 1

Add a retro look to your bedroom by enhancing the red walls with light blue bedding and decor. Sky blue accents look surprisingly fresh with red, and can add a vintage appeal to your room. Choose light blue bedding and rugs, and tie the look together by using red decorative pillows on your bed.

  2. Step 2

Choose wood bedroom furniture to add country charm or elegance to your room. Use light wood, such as oak or maple, to make your bedroom look quaint, or a dark wood, such as cherry, to add an elegant touch to your room. Once you have established the type of look you want, invest in a wood headboard, dresser and nightstand.

  3. Step 3

For a sleek and modern style, choose shiny black bedroom furniture. Buy a black Lucite computer desk and nightstand, and accent the contemporary look with black picture frames and vases. Choose bedding with a clean, Asian-inspired design.

  4. Step 4

Go for an industrial, contemporary look by using furniture and accent pieces in silver and chrome. Add a cool look to your bedroom by buying a computer table with silver metal legs, and a black dresser with silver hardware. Set out silver picture frames, and buy a lamp with a silver base.

  5. Step 5

Turn your bedroom into an exotic enclave by decorating with complementary spicy shades. Choose Moroccan-inspired bedding made of silk, and update your lamps with opulent beaded shades. Enhance your room using decor and furniture in rich shades of gold and orange. Add to the decadent look by placing candles throughout your bedroom.
