Its time to start shopping for the perfect laptop for school. Laptops are a necessity for students, but are extremely expensive. The best way to get a cheap laptop is to buy a refurbished laptop.

1. Figure out what you want. The objective is to get what you want for less. Don't sacrifice your expectations because their are plenty of discounted laptops. You will find the perfect one for you.

2. Visit websites that sell discounted and refurbished laptops, including USA Notebooks, Laptop Outlet, Overstock.com, Amazon, Dell Outlet, and many others.
   
   In my personal opinion, USA Notebooks is the best, it has the widest variety and most laptops are priced under $500, some are even priced under $250.

3. Hunt through each site, noting laptops that appeal to you the most. You can do this by simply adding the page to your favorites.

4. After narrowing down your choices, compare them. Compare them not only with each other, but also with brand new laptops of the same make and model. Specifics should match almost exactly between a refurbished laptop and a brand new laptop.

5. Time to buy. When buying online most websites make you pay with a credit card, there are several though that accept payment from PayPal, which is nice if you don't have or don't want to use your credit card.

• Always make sure that the website or company you are buying from are not scammers, meaning they have safe and secured sites and are accredited members of the BBB.
