How to Decorate a Large Wall With Photos

1
Hang them in the right spot. Do not try to fill the space vertically. Instead, hang your photos in a straight, horizontal line across the space, working within a grid. Make the line about two-thirds of the way up the wall. You can go above and below the line, but try to keep within a rectangular or square space.

Alternate large and medium photos. Hang one big one, then one medium one, then one big one, and so forth. Make the space equal between each photo.

3
Place the photos in the same type of frame. This will bring unity to the wall and make it look more artistic rather than kitschy. For a more modern look, develop all the photos in black and white or sepia tones.

4
Create a story. Use photographs that have action in them, rather than still photographs. The illusion of movement will make the wall feel like it is being filled up. For example, start with a photo of someone running, then a smaller photo of a bird flying, then a photo of someone dancing, and continue the theme.

Use empty photo frames. Instead of making your photo bigger, hang a larger, empty frame around the framed photo. Also consider using a large mat around a smaller photograph.
