Step 1
Consider your dad's hobbies. Does he fish? Bowl? Cook? Your dad's interests can be a launch pad for coming up with unique Fathers' Day gifts. If he needs a new tool for his hobby, perhaps you can buy one that is personalized, or that is made in such a way that it won't blend in with his buddies' equipment.

Step 2
Give the gift of time. Many people don't spend very much time with their fathers. Take off a Friday and take your dad away for a long weekend doing what he likes to do. Perhaps you can take your dad to a baseball game, or spend an early morning fishing. Time spent with your Dad might be just what he wants.

Step 3
Think about what experiences your dad might enjoy. Would he like to learn to ballroom dance? Perhaps he's never been to an art museum in a neighboring town, but you know that he loves modern art. Giving tickets to a place he's never been to is a good idea for a unique Fathers' Day gift.

Step 4
Complete some chore that he's been putting off. Does he need the house painted, or a shelf put up? Relieving him of his "handyman" duties might make a good gift!
