Birthday gift ideas for under $25.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • $25 or less
  • Imagination
  • A friend or relative
  1. Step 1

Write a list of what this person likes.

Perhaps they really like crafts or scrapbooking... Maybe they really enjoy keeping their car clean... Perhaps they are a movie buff. These are clues as to what potential gifts could be for this person.

  2. Step 2

Figure out gifts associated with this person's interests. For example, if this person really loves vegetarian cooking, it might be a nice gift to get them a vegetarian magazine subscription for a year.

  3. Step 3

As in the previous example, with the vegetarian friend, figure out how much everything might cost...

The magazine subscription is probably no more than about $15. Then, you could also possibly add a cheap cookbook or even make them a vegetarian dish. This would certainly be within budget, and also probably appreciated and used often.

  4. Step 4

Another idea is a gift basket. Pick several items from your list that are budget-friendly and put it in a basket.

You can pick up a cheap basket from any dollar store or places such as Target, K-Mart, 5 and Below, etc.

Place some shredded paper or tissue paper (also cheap at dollar stores and other discount shops) and set up items in a nice presentation.

An example: someone loves pampering themselves with body products. Buy a couple items from their favorite more expensive shop, such as Victoria's Secret, or Bath & Body Works, then buy a couple cheaper items from the dollar store... Arrange it nicely in the basket, wrap with a cheap plastic film or specialty-wrap and give a beautiful and useful gift they are sure to love!

  5. Step 5

If your birthday person only likes higher costing gifts, such as name-brand products, season tickets to sports, or something of that nature, you can always resort to cash or gift cards. However, by composing a list a month or two before their birthday, you should be able to have several ideas of wonderful and even imaginative gifts to present within your budget!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make your list at least 2-3 weeks before their birthday so you can keep adding to it and getting ideas as the special day approaches.
  • DO NOT WAIT until the last minute! Anything rushed is not as good as something well thought-out.
