1
Wrap the yarn around the peg on the outside edge of the loom, leaving approximately a 2-inch tail of yarn. From the side peg, bring the yarn around the back of the nearest peg and bring it around to the front and then to the back again to completely wrap the yarn around the peg.
-
2
Pull the yarn over to the next peg and wrap it around this peg in the same fashion. Continue wrapping yarn around each peg until each peg has one loop of yarn wrapped around it.
-
-
3
Wrap the yarn around each peg again so that there are two loops of yarn on each peg.
-
4
Use the loom hook to lift the bottom loop up, over and off of each peg to leave one loop of yarn on each peg of the knitting loom.
-
5
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the scarf is the desired length. Stop knitting the scarf when there is just one loop on each peg.
-
6
Remove each loop from each peg with the loom hook to remove the scarf from the knitting loom.
-
7
Cut a 12-inch length of yarn and thread the yarn needle. Stitch each open end of the scarf with the needle and yarn to close the ends of the scarf.
-
8
Trim any excess yarn tails to finish the scarf.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to add a fringe to the scarf, cut 6-inch lengths of yarn and thread a length of yarn onto the needle. Insert the threaded needle into a short edge of the scarf and pull the yarn length to the halfway point. Tie a simple double knot in the yarn. Repeat with more 6-inch yarn lengths until both short ends of the scarf are filled with fringe.
