Step 1
Announce your engagement. Set a date, budget and general theme/colors for the wedding.

Pick the location and reserve it for the big day or have it at a family members or friends home. Decide if you will be married by the Justice of the peace or minister/priest, etc. and reserve them too.

Start your gift registry after you set the date of the wedding.

Make a list of everything you need to buy so you don't forget anything.
Ex: Shoes, Dress, Lingerie, Groom's Ring. -

Figure out your something borrowed, new, old and blue.

Choose wedding attendants. Choose your dress and shoes, as well as bridesmaid dresses.

Make a guest list. Pick out the invitations and wedding rings. Send invitations ASAP!

Discuss with family and friends a menu for the wedding. Doing it this way is a lot cheaper than hiring a catering service. If a friend bakes, have them make the wedding cake, if not, order one from the bakery of choice.

A Week before the wedding, purchase your marriage license and pay the Justice of the peace or who is marrying you.

Make an appointment for your hair, makeup and nails at your favorite salon.

Hire a photography student to photograph the wedding or hire a family member or friend. This is the cheapest way to go.
