Want a short engagement and want to get married in 30 days?

Organization is key. Planning the wedding will be a challenging task, but it can be done with effective organization. Approach it as a countdown to the big day and you will succeed in your goal to plan your inexpensive wedding.

Things You'll Need:

  • Theme or colors
  • Budget
  • Location for your wedding
  • Person to Marry You
  • Family and Friends to help with cooking, photo's, music,cake
  • Bakery (if friends or family don't bake)
  • Marriage license
  • a daily planner (write your list to buy in it)
  • Wedding gown/or dress
  • Rings and vows
  • Flowers and bootineers
  1. Step 1

    Announce your engagement. Set a date, budget and general theme/colors for the wedding.

  2. Step 2

    Pick the location and reserve it for the big day or have it at a family members or friends home. Decide if you will be married by the Justice of the peace or minister/priest, etc. and reserve them too.

  3. Step 3

    Start your gift registry after you set the date of the wedding.

  4. Step 4

    Make a list of everything you need to buy so you don't forget anything.
    Ex: Shoes, Dress, Lingerie, Groom's Ring.

  5. Step 5

    Figure out your something borrowed, new, old and blue.

  6. Step 6

    Choose wedding attendants. Choose your dress and shoes, as well as bridesmaid dresses.

  7. Step 7

    Make a guest list. Pick out the invitations and wedding rings. Send invitations ASAP!

  8. Step 8

    Discuss with family and friends a menu for the wedding. Doing it this way is a lot cheaper than hiring a catering service. If a friend bakes, have them make the wedding cake, if not, order one from the bakery of choice.

  9. Step 9

    A Week before the wedding, purchase your marriage license and pay the Justice of the peace or who is marrying you.

  10. Step 10

    Make an appointment for your hair, makeup and nails at your favorite salon.

  11. Step 11

    Hire a photography student to photograph the wedding or hire a family member or friend. This is the cheapest way to go.
