Kids love soda and they will probably be drinking it forever. But you can help make soda a bit more healthy by cutting down the amount of soda and adding a more healthy beverage to the soda. Read on for my ideas!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • soda or seltzer, any flavor
  • other stuff to mix with the soda like milk, juices, kool-aid, etc.
  1. Step 1

Soda and milk! Just pour half a glass of soda then fill the rest with milk. Fruit flavor sodas like strawberry, orange, raspberry, etc., are super good. But other flavors like root beer, dr. pepper, coke are just as good! You can use sugar free soda and skim milk if you are watching calories. Drink one of these concoctions BEFORE a meal to cut your appetite!

  2. Step 2

Soda and juice! Half a glass of soda mixed with 1/2 glass of juice is also a great soda cocktail. Try mixing orange soda with orange juice or sprite with pineapple juice. Mixing seltzer is especially good when mixed with juice. And seltzer is a great low calorie option!

  3. Step 3

Soda and kool-aid! You can also mix soda with any flavor kool-aid. Again, if you use diet soda and sugar free kool-aid you've got a fun punch for no calories! You can also add a splash of milk to this!

  4. Step 4

Soda and ice cream! Okay, we've all heard of the ice cream float. But do you ever bother to make it at home? You should because it's easy! Just plop a scoop of ice cream into any soda. This makes a great dessert drink too.

  5. Step 5

Soda and flavored ice cubes! Freeze juice or kool-aid or even milk in an ice cube tray. Plop them into a glass of soda. It keeps the drink cold and adds flavor as it melts!

  6. Step 6

All of these recipes can be put into a blender with a few ice cubes (or the flavored ice cubes) and turned into a smoothie. Add a couple pieces of frozen fruit or berries and you have a very special treat!
