How to Clean a Living Air Ozone Air Purifier

Marie Mulrooney

Just like any other air purifier, the blocky Living Air ozone air purifiers require regular cleaning. Cleaning the blades of your air purifier will remove the build-up of dust, allergens, dirt and other materials that the machine has pulled out of the air and restore the purifier to proper working condition. If you don't clean the air purifier regularly--as often as once a week after first installation, but often less frequently after that--it will become saturated with debris and unable to continue cleaning the air.

  1. Grasp the handle of each ozone plate from the back of the Living Air purifier and pull them one at a time out of the unit.

  2. Wipe each metal plate with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt.

  3. Scrub each metal plate and its ceramic tile with an old toothbrush dipped in hot water or about 1 ounce of ammonia diluted in a sink full of hot water. This removes any further dirt deposits.

  4. Rinse the metal plate and ceramic tile in hot water.

  5. Let the plates and tiles dry completely before reinserting them in the Living Air ozone air purifier. You can speed the drying process by wiping them down with a dry cloth immediately after rinsing.
