How to Remove Mildew From Cloth Car Seats

Car seats get a lot of wear, especially if you have children. Sometimes if there's a spill on a cloth seat you might not find it until the dampness has allowed mildew to grow. Removing mildew from a car seat isn't too complicated; with a couple of common household cleaners and some old fashioned elbow grease, before you know it you can have that cloth car seat looking as good as new.

  • ½ tsp. liquid laundry booster
  • ½ cup hydrogen peroxide (3 percent)
  • Clean cloth
  • Sponge
  • Wet vacuum

      Mix the laundry booster with the peroxide in a small bowl.

      Apply the cleaning solution to the mildew stain, rubbing it gently with a clean cloth until the stain is gone.

      Suck up the extra moisture with a wet vacuum, or blot with a towel and allow to dry completely in a sunny spot.
