How to Make a Wedding Card Wishing Well
Create a special wishing well wedding card to a special bride and groom. Make a pretty layered card with wedding-themed decorative paper and an image of a wishing well as the focal point. The most important part of the card is the many wishes written by the maker inside to the new couple for a wonderful, long and happy life.
Things You'll Need
- Card stock: off-white, cream or pastel (solid color)
- Decorative paper, wedding themed
- Scissors/paper cutter
- Image of wishing well
- Corner embosser
- Calligraphy pen or marker
- Double-sided tape
- Envelope A7 (fits 5-inch by 7-inch card)
Instructions

1
With a paper cutter, cut the solid color card stock to 10 inches by 7 inches. Fold it in half and make a crease. This is the base card, which will be 5 inches by 7 inches for this project.
-
2
Cut the sheet of decorative paper to make a piece that is 4-1/2 inches by 5 inches. Use the corner embosser to trim and emboss the four corners. Attach strips of double-sided tape to the back of this paper and press, centered, onto the front of the base card so that the 5 inch side is vertical.

Cut another piece of the solid color card stock from the original sheet to a piece that is 3-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches. With double-sided tape on the back, press this piece on top of the decorative piece of paper on the card (Step 2) so there is a decorative border showing all around.
-
4
Attach double-sided tape on the back of the wishing well image (trim with scissors if necessary) and press it on top of the small piece of card stock you applied in Step 3.
-
5
With a calligraphy pen or marker, write "From the Wishing Well" on the top front of the card, and write "To the Bride and Groom" on the bottom front of the card. Inside the card, write a special note such as "Sending you special wishes for a long and happy life filled with wonderful memories and joy."
-
6
Insert the card into the envelope and give to the bride and groom either attached to a gift at the wedding reception, or address it and mail it. Make sure you use sufficient postage.

Tips & Warnings
Practice writing with a calligraphy pen or marker on plain paper before writing on the card itself. Wishing well images can be obtained off Internet web sites that offer copyright free images (copied and printed with a computer and printer), or cut from magazines or expired wallpaper sample books. A corner embosser is a small device/press available at craft shops that has four different corner finishes --- slip the paper corner in the opening, press and pull out.
