How to Clean a Bunn Coffee Pot
Cleaning a coffee maker is a necessary task that should be performed at least a few times a year. Determining if a coffee pot needs cleaning is easy to do, either the coffee made will begin to taste bad or the pot will show visible signs of stains and mineral build up. If a Bunn coffee pot is starting to indicate it is cleaning time, a few simple steps are all that is needed to get the coffee pot back to tip-top shape. Pour one coffee pot full of white vinegar into the coffee pot's water reservoir and run a normal brewing cycle.

Unplug the Bunn coffee maker and allow the pot and maker to sit for an hour or two.

Drain the pot of the vinegar and rinse it several times in cool water. Fill the pot with cold water for use in a later step.

Remove the coffee maker funnel and spray head and clean both with a soft cloth and mild dish soap. If the spray head contains white buildup, it may be necessary to clean the head with a small scrub brush or soak the head in vinegar for 15 minutes.

Tip the Bunn coffee maker upside down over a sink and empty any vinegar that may be inside.

Run a pot of cold water through the brewer 6 to 10 times, or until the water that comes out of the coffee maker no longer has any vinegar odor.

Rinse the funnel and spray head and place them back into the coffee maker.
