Instructions

    • 1

Gather several sheets of construction paper and regular white paper together along with the rest of your materials and place them in your working area. For one card you will need two sheets of construction paper (one of each color), one sheet of white paper, glue and scissors.

    • 2

Fold one piece of the construction paper in half either vertically or horizontally. Press flat so that a crease is created at the fold point. Lay the white paper on the inside of the construction paper that was folded. Press this flat and crease in the same way you did with the construction paper. Trim the white paper if it overlaps the construction paper. The construction paper should make a small border around the outside of the white paper. Glue the white paper to the inside of the folded construction paper.

    • 3

Cut out the shapes of hearts and crosses with a pair of scissors and the other piece of construction paper. One sheet of construction paper can make one large shape or several small ones. Hearts and crosses combine Christianity and Valentine's Day. Cut out as many of these shapes as you can so you do not waste any paper. Extra shapes can be used on the other Christian Valentine's Day cards. Glue one or a couple of these shapes to the front of the folded construction paper.

Open up the bible to find passages that can be written on the inside of the Christian Valentine's Day cards you are making. Passages that refer to love can be found in Proverbs, Psalms, 1st Corinthians, John and the Song of Solomon. A few passages that might be considered for Christian Valentine's Day Cards are "Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs."- Proverbs 10:12, "Love is patient, Love is kind."- 1st Corinthians 13:1 or "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."- 1 Peter 4:8.

    • 5

Write on the front of the card, with the marker, a Christian message such as "God Loves You," "Jesus Loves You" or simply "I love you." Open up the card and write the passage you decided on from the bible on the inside. Sign the card and send them to the people you want to or give them out to family, friends or church members.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add some of the construction paper cut outs to the inside of the card to add some creative embellishment.
