How to Make Fried Rice Using a Cooker

  • Rice cooker
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup frozen peas, carrots and green beans mix
  • 1/4 cup baby corn
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup spring onion
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons of minced garlic
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 beaten egg (optional)

      Soak the rice for 15 minutes. Wash the rice and drain any excess water. Put it in the rice cooker with 2 cups of water.

      Finely chop the spring onions, bell pepper and ginger. Mince the garlic.

      In a wok, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. If you like eggs in your fried rice, pour the beaten egg into the wok. Do not scramble it. After the egg has set, shred it into a bowl.

      Heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Add the peas, carrots, green beans, baby corn, spring onion, bell pepper, ginger and garlic. Add salt and soy sauce. Stir fry until tender.

      Add this mixture to the rice in the rice cooker and stir. Close the lid on the rice cooker and turn it on. Cook until the automatic timer goes off, indicating that the rice is ready.

      Once the rice is cooked, add the shredded egg pieces to it.

  • If you are on a low-sodium diet, you can omit salt and the fried rice will still taste delicious.
