Things You'll Need:
- Poster board Colored foam sheets Elmer's glue Yarn (optional) Googly eyes (optional) Stencils (optional) Pencil Stapler

Step 1
Decide on the type of picture you want to make for your foam poster board. This will determine the colors and materials for your project. The sky is the limit when it comes to choosing a picture. You could make one big picture of an animal or a flower or you could make a 3-D foam picture on each of the foam pieces that make up your foam poster board.
-
Step 2
Buy the materials you need to create your foam picture poster board: You will need a traditional piece of poster board and colored foam sheets to cover your board with. Lay the sheets on the poster board to figure out how many you need to cover it. Choose colors that go with your picture design. You will need extra sheets for the picture design and to account for any mistakes. You will also need glue and any other art pieces, such as yarn or googly eyes or stencils to enhance your picture. You can purchase these materials at a retail craft store.
-
Step 3
Organize your materials on a table when you get home. Spread the foam sheets across the poster board and staple them in place.
-
Step 4
Start to create your design, using a stencil, if desired. If you are making a spring scene, you could use green and blue for the background of the board by attaching green on the bottom for the grass and blue on the top for the sky. You trace stencils of flowers, butterflies and lady bugs on different colored foam sheets. Cut out the stenciled pictures and add dimensions to them by gluing on additional foam pieces. For the lady bug, you could cut the bug out in red and then cut out black foam dots and glue them on the bug. Glue your cut out pictures to your foam background to complete the scene.

Step 5
Start to create one giant picture such as a rainbow by stapling blue foam sheets to the poster board. Use different colored foam sheets to create the lines of the rainbow. You can do this by putting several sheets side by side and drawing a big oval line. Cut out the oval line and glue it to your foam poster board. Continue this with each of the colors of your rainbow.

Step 6
Enjoy your foam picture creation!
