How to Drape a Scarf on Windows
-
1
Measure the window. You want the scarf to easily drape in the middle and hang down the sides of the window. There are three basic options: a scarf that hangs midway, a scarf that reaches the floor, or a scarf that creates an asymmetrical look. An asymmetrical look will be longer on one side than the other side. Plan to purchase a scarf that is two to four times the width measurement of the window.

2
Lay out the scarf on the floor. Begin to fold the scarf lengthwise, accordion style. Consider folds, which are 3 to 6 inches in depth. Using the binder clips or fabric pins, pin the center and the corners of the scarf. These points will guide you when you place the scarf on the rod.

Place the scarf on the curtain rod. Arrange the scarf so the center pin is in the middle of the window and the corners are close to the rings, sconces, scarf holders or the end of the curtain rod. Slide the scarf through the scarf holders, drape over the sconces or wrap around the rod. Remove the clips or pins.

Pull the lower pleats. To create a drape in the center, pull gently on the center of the scarf . Stand back and view the scarf. Adjust the sides if they are not even. The window treatment is complete.
