Tulle is a semi-sheer fabric often used for decorating. White tulle is a popular choice for wedding decorations due to its low cost and durability. Tulle is also simple to incorporate with other wedding decor.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Line the aisle. Attach the tulle to the chair at the end of the first row, next to the aisle. Drape the tulle and attach it to the chair behind it. Continue attaching it to the chairs at the end of the rows until all rows have tulle connecting them. Connect all end chairs on both sides of the aisle. For added appeal, attach bows to chairs where tulle connects.

  2. Step 2

Add to arrangements. There are several ways to incorporate tulle in arrangements. Wrap flowerpots completely in tulle. Tie bows around vases or flowerpots. Set decorations and arrangements on top of tulle scrap cuts. Let tulle hang off the sides of tables.

  3. Step 3

Tie up reception chairs. Wrap the tulle around the back of the chair, and tie a big bow. It doesn't matter how big the bows are or how low they hang, just make sure that the bows on all the chairs match.

  4. Step 4

Use it for bouquets. Use tulle to hold together the bride's bouquet, as well as the bridesmaids' bouquets. Tie a bow at the ends, or simply leave the ends long. Tie a piece of tulle or a bow onto the flower girl's basket and the ring bearer's pillow, too.

  5. Step 5

Drape it. Use tulle to decorate over doorways by taping or nailing it up. At the center of the doorway, attach the tulle about a foot over the top of the frame. Then, directly over the end of the doorway frame, attach the tulle about six inches higher than the frame. Drape the tulle between the points of attachment. Let the ends hang as long as desired, from a foot long to floor-length. Ensure both sides are the same length.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use sharp, fabric-cutting scissors to cut tulle to ensure clean edges on the fabric. Buy tulle in bulk, or at least the same brand and type to avoid mismatches.
  • Check with building owners before using nails or any other materials that leave permanent marks to avoid charges later.
