Making a Valentine's Day wreath is quick and easy when you use a natural grapevine wreath as the base. Not only does it provide a sturdy base, but the natural vine adds warmth and does not have to be covered completely. Whether you choose to make a quick wreath to decorate a corner of the home or wish to announce to the world you love Valentine's Day with an elaborate door wreath, making the wreath takes little time and the results are spectacular.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ribbon (red, pink, white)
  • Lace
  • Decorative items
  • Wooden hearts
  • Fabric hearts
  • Spanish moss
  • Hot glue gun or glue sticks
  1. Step 1

Select a variety of silk flowers and leaves. Traditional Valentine's Day wreaths feature red roses and baby's breath, but delicate pink roses tied up with a yards of lace make a romantic statement and are beautiful in bedrooms and guestrooms.

  2. Step 2

Choose small ornaments to complement the colors you choose. Visit the dollar store or local craft store to view the wide selection of Valentine's Day themed decorations. Purchased for a $1 or $2, small hearts or miniature stuffed animals make an adorable addition to any wreath. Look for decorative ribbon and bows designed for holiday use.

  3. Step 3

Create a simple wreath by hot gluing leaves and dried or silk flowers to resemble a bouquet resting in the center of the wreath. Place at the bottom so the flowers extend into the center. Add decorative items to the grouping if desired. Select a ribbon or lace that complements the floral design and weave the ribbon loosely around the vine. Add a big bow at the top and display your wreath.

  4. Step 4

Make a full floral wreath by covering the grapevine with Spanish moss and glue in place. Glue silk or dried roses to the Spanish moss covering the entire surface of the wreath. Tuck leaves amid the flowers and glue in place. Tuck small 2-inch sections of baby's breath into the wreath at intervals to create an airy look. Add a large lace ribbon and hang to display.

  5. Step 5

Decorate a quick whimsical wreath with fabric or wooden hearts. Space the hearts evenly around the base of the wreath and glue in place. Add a large bow to the top of the wreath. Glue tiny heart to the tails of the ribbon so they dangle in the center of the wreath.
