You will never have to pay for dryer sheets again when you make your own at home!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dry washcloth or hand towel
  • Bottle of liquid fabric softener
  • Spray bottle
  1. Step 1

Choose the liquid fabric softener you find most appealing, and use it to fill up a spray bottle. The bottle can be kept handy in your laundry room for future use.

  2. Step 2

Spray the dry wash cloth several times with the fabric softener. You may use any piece of fabric as your dryer sheet, but terry cloth seems to be best. If it is a particularly dry day, you may want to use more fabric softener on the cloth than usual to make sure everything comes out free of static.

  3. Step 3

Toss the wash cloth into the dryer with your clothes and dry as usual.

  4. Step 4

Your clothes will come out freshly-scented (depending on your fabric softener) and static-free.

  5. Step 5

After a few uses, throw the cloth in with your regular laundry to clean it, then re-use.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to thoroughly clean your dryer's lint trap often. Dryer sheets and fabric softener can leave behind residue which you sometimes can't see.
