Things You'll Need:
- Patience
- Creativity

Step 1
Photographs are the central focus of most scrapbook pages. It's hard to resist the urge to print and use every photo that you have. Often times though, you end up printing more than you can squeeze onto a page. Try to choose only the photographs that best convey the memory. Then, shop around for the best price on getting them printed. Most drugstores and discount stores (Wal-Mart) offer online print services and there are specialized websites that offer this service as well. If you choose to print at home, you'll still want to be conservative and save money on ink and paper.
-
Step 2
Scrapbook with friends or in a group. Not only is it fun but you also can swap out stickers, paper, embellishments and tools. If you don't have any friends who share the hobby, ask around at work, church or in your neighborhood to find others who might want to start a group.
-
Step 3
Get on the mailing list of any hobby stores near you. Stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby run weekly sales that often include good deals on scrapbooking supplies. They also generally feature weekly coupons.
-
Step 4
Buy only what you need. If you walk down a scrapbook aisle in a store, it's hard not to want to fill the cart with everything. Pace yourself and buy paper, stickers, etc. only for what you immediately plan to work on. The exception to this is when you see good deals on multi-purpose items (letter stickers for example) or themes you know you will use eventually such as birthdays or holidays.
-
Step 5
Always be on the lookout. Stores like Dollar General, Big Lots and Dollar Trees all have scrapbook supplies now. You never know what you might find!
-
Step 6
Be organized. The more organized you are with your supplies, the less likely you will buy something that you already have.
