Things You'll Need:
- Beer, Preferably a Guinness or a Light Amber
- Green Food Coloring
-
Step 1
First, take a clear glass or mug and chill it either in the freezer or refrigerator. A warm glass will suck the flavor out of your green beer.
-
Step 2
Now you will need a beer. Lighter beers tend to work much better, but you can achieve a similar effect with a darker beer with a little experimentation. Even the darkest beer will still gain a festive green head, however.
-
Step 3
Add green food coloring to the mug, then pour the beer. 2-3 drops should be plenty to turn any light-colored ale into a festive green beer for St. Patrick's Day.

on 2/26/2009 I am really excited to try this this year. Thanks for the knowledge, somehow I thought green beer was just kissed at the blarney stone or something....
