Step 1
Set up your tree and put on the lights. There is a link in resources with complete instructions
-
Step 2
Let the tree stand for a day so that the branches will drop.
-
Step 3
If you are right handed, open the package of icicles and remove the icicles from the package, keeping them together in the bundle as they are packaged. Lay them accross the palm of your left hand so that one end of the bundle hangs between your thumb and your fingers. If you close your hand you will close it over the middle of the bundle.
-
Step 4
Sit on the floor at the bottom of the tree and with your right hand pinch the middle of several icicles and remove them from the bundle. Drape them over the back of one branch at the bottom of the tree. Repeat and drape them over the end of the branch. You will have icicles at the end of the branch and further back on the same branch.
-
Step 5
Move to another branch and repeat step 4
-
Step 6
repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have applied tinsel icicles to all the branches on the bottom of the tree.
-
Step 7
Move up to the next level of the tree branches and repeat steps 4 and 5 until all the branches on that level have their tinsel icicles.
-
Step 8
Continue to work your way up the tree one level at a time until you have covered the tree with tinsel icicles.
-
Step 9
If you have leftover icicles you can save them by wrapping the bundle in a pipe cleaner...and put them up for next yer
-
Step 10
Add your ornaments and you will have a beautiful Old Fashioned tinsel icicle tree...

on 2/16/2009 This reminds me of when my brother was a baby he ate one and it was in his dirty diaper lol. I was 5 so I thought he had Christmas poo. Great article and I am sure this method is much better than mine of just throwing it on. I'll give this a try this year! 5*
