An electric space heater can help you stay warm while lowering you heating bills. As winter chills the air you can lower your thermostat to save energy costs and wasted heat. But to make the space you're in more comfortable, try adding some spot heating with an electric space heater. Here are some suggestions for the best electric space heaters for the best price around.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out how large the space is you want to heat. According to Consumer Search and Consumer reports, the Holmes Quartz Tower HQH319-U is recommended tops for a space heater that will warm a specific area. The Vornado Vortex Touchstone 500 TVH 500 is better for heating a whole room, but it is twice the price, coming in at around $150 as an estimated cost. Still, for the heat and ease of use, the Vornado comes in as the best heater in its category for that price.

  2. Step 2

Decide how much you can really spend. There are some very inexpensive models that can help you heat your space. For the best small heater at an estimated price of only about $20, Consumer Search and Amazon like the DeLonghi DFH132 SafeHeat Fan Heater. Good Housekeeping is another good source for rating electric space heaters and recommends the Honeywell HZ-2800 as their top pick for a personal space heater. This one prices out at about $30.

  3. Step 3

Do research first to get the best value for what you need. There are many makes and models you can choose from to find the perfect electric space heater for your use. Check with the review sites mentioned here by using the links provided in the Additional Resources below, or research your own sources to find the best electric space heater for the best price. If you take into consideration the money you will save overall by reducing your whole house heating costs, any of these can turn out to be a great money-saving deal.

on 12/19/2008 I was just researching these on my own - trying to find a cost-effective heater for my daughters room. Our current space heater costs us about $40 a month to run!
