How to Have Classic, Elegant, and Sophisticated Christmas Yard Decor

Are the blow up snowmen, cartoon character yard signs, and candy canes lining the driveway not your style? This article will list a few ideas to give your Christmas decor a classic, elegant, and sophisticated style.

   Everything in moderation. You do not have to win the prize for the most decor or lights on your street. Understated is sophisticated. Just a few strands of lights here and there are very nice.

   Only use small white lights. Multi-colored lights tend to look juvenile. Medium sized or really large lights also look less sophisticated.

   Wreaths are a classic touch. Add a colorful bow that ties into the overall color scheme. You can also hang a wreath on each of your windows or one large wreath at the peak of your home. Consider using real fruit, pine cones, and/or flowers in your wreath.

   Surround your door with greenery. Live greenery works best to create an inviting fragrance.

   Consider adding candles or candle-looking lights to your windows. This will light up the whole house with a warm glow. You can also set up your Christmas tree indoors in front of window so it can be seen from outside.
