1
Purchase all natural soy wax for candles. Ensure that it is a 100% natural blend, without any paraffin or petroleum-based additives. Soy wax is available in wholesale quantities online and in hobby size amounts at craft stores.
-
2
Prepare the containers or molds for your all natural soy candles. Jars need to be warmed and molds may need a non-stick coating applied.
-
3
Set wicks into the containers; the top of the wick should be an inch or two longer than the top of the container. Secure the wicks such that they will not be displaced by wax pouring.
-
4
Melt the all natural soy wax according to manufacturer's directions. Some waxes are melt-able in the microwave, but most do best in a wax melter or double boiler. Use the thermometer to check the temperature and ensure proper melt.
-
5
Add dye and fragrance to wax after removing from heat and allowing temperature to drop slightly. Stir to incorporate.
-
6
Pour wax into the prepared containers or molds. Keep the wick centered properly; adjust after pouring if necessary.
-
7
Finished candles
Allow candles to cool completely before trimming wicks, lighting, or wrapping for gift giving.
