How to Have a Green Bridal Shower
The wedding will be held in the middle of a nature preserve, the bride will wear a beautiful bamboo/silk blend gown and all the bridesmaids will go eco-elegant in hemp. As the maid of honor, it is traditionally your responsibility to plan the bridal shower. What else can you do but plan a green bridal shower for your environmentally conscious bride? Anything else just wouldn't be right.

Ask guests to bring eco-friendly gifts like a kitchen composter, products made from recycled materials, bamboo kitchenware, organic skin and bath products, gardening products, or organic food. Make sure to ask that they keep gift wrap and packaging to a minimum to conserve resources.

Have the bridal shower in an eco-friendly location like in the middle of a beautiful garden, on an organic farm, at a vineyard or at a local apple orchard.

Serve organic, local and seasonal foods. Experiment with tasty organic recipes or grab stuff at the local organic deli or Farmer's Market.

Play games for charity. Collect donations for charity in a bowl at the end of the shower have everyone guess how much money is in the bowl. The winner gets a prize and the money goes to charity. Or play games where you gamble and all the money collected goes to the bride's favorite charity.
