How to make cheap christmas decorations from pine cones

Here is a cheap and easy craft you can do alone or with children, making beautiful Christmas ornaments from plain old pine cones.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Pine cones (any size)
• Paint
• Glitter or sugar
• Ribbon
• Any other craft items you desire to add to the decoration

1. 

   Start with pine cones found in the yard or during a walk. Any size, as many as you like. Make sure they are cleaned, as any dirt or dust on them will cause the paint to flake off.

2. 

   Choose your favorite holiday color paint (gold, silver, green, any color at all). For a fresh snow-kissed effect, use white paint mixed with just a touch of very light blue. Apply paint to the whole cone, or just the tips, whichever you prefer.
   
   While paint is still wet, sprinkle a little of your favorite glitter or sugar over it (or roll it in glitter or sugar) and let dry.

3. 

   When thoroughly dry, tie or glue your favorite ribbon for tree hanging, or place them in a decorative bowl, basket, or around candles for a lovely centerpiece.
