Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Shake baking soda all over the bottom of a completely cooled oven. You want a full layer on the bottom so that you cannot see any oven showing through.

  2. Step 2

Spray water over the baking soda so that it gets damp but not soaking wet. This will trigger the baking soda to start breaking down the food residue that is stuck to the oven bottom.

  3. Step 3

Spray again when the baking soda dries. It is best to start oven cleaning at night so that you can spray and dry once or twice before going to bed. Spray one last time in the morning when you wake up.

  4. Step 4

Scrape the baking soda off of the oven bottom. The food particles will come up with the baking soda leaving your oven nearly clean.

  5. Step 5

Use a damp sponge to work out any leftover spots. Use the sponge to rinse out the rest of the baking soda. Your oven is clean just using a few natural ingredients.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use some lemon juice in your water for added power.
  • Don't start cleaning in an oven that hasn't totally cooled. Wait for a day when you haven't used your oven.
