How to Barbecue Chicken in the Slow Cooker

Barbecue chicken is a great dish to make for lunch or dinner. The slow cooker allows you to fix it and forget about it for a couple hours. Barbecue chicken is great by itself, over a baked potato or rice or in a sandwich. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 6 frozen skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

    • 1

      Spray slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent entry from sticking. Place chicken in slow cooker and turn heat to low.

      Mix the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce together. Pour mixture over chicken.

      For best results cover chicken and cook for 6 to 8 hours on Low.

Tips & Warnings

  • If in a hurry, turn setting to high heat and cook for three to four hours. Results will lead to less tender chicken.
