Things You'll Need:
- A wedding date
- An imagination
- A willingness to be different
-
Step 1
CREATE A BRAND
Think of it as a logo for your wedding. Create an image that you can use over and over again: on invitations, programs, favors and more. Your logo could be a monogram, your names or an element related to your wedding theme. -
Step 2
WRITE YOUR OWN VOWS
Nothing is more personal than your wedding vows, so why should you “Repeat after me?” Take the time to write words from your heart about why you love your new spouse. Agree ahead of time on a general length, and touch each other (and your guests) with your own vows. -
Step 3
ADD SIGNATURE FOOD & DRINK
Instead of offering the typical fish or chicken entree, serve a meal that is unique to your hometown. Pick a wine from your favorite vacation spot. Or, offer a specialty cocktail that you drank on your first date. Whatever you choose, tell your guests the story behind it on the menu cards. -
Step 4
CHOOSE MEANINGFUL MUSIC
Music frames a wedding, from the walk down to the aisle to the first dance to the last song. Plenty of helpful wedding song lists exist, but try to pick songs than have meaning to you. Use the first song you danced to together. Play your college fight song for the reception introductions.
