Layered dips make great appetizers at functions and parties. This recipe for an easy Mexican dip can be done in less than 5 minutes and your guest will love it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 tbsp. salsa or taco sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup prepared guacamole
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
  • 2 medium green onions, chopped
  • Tortilla chips
  1. Step 1

Mix the can of refried beans with the salsa or taco sauce. Spread a layer of the mixture evenly over a 12 inch serving plate or casserole dish.

  2. Step 2

Spread an even layer of sour cream over the refried bean mixture. Leave approximately an inch of beans showing around the edge of the sour cream.

  3. Step 3

Spread an even layer of the prepared guacamole over the sour cream, leaving an inch border of sour cream under the guacamole.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle the cheese over the top of the guacamole. Sprinkle the chopped green onion over the cheese.

  5. Step 5

Serve the Mexican layered dip immediately with tortilla chips or you can refrigerate the dip for up to 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are using a serving plate for this dip, arrange some tortilla chips around the edge so that the dip stays on the plate. This also makes a cute and creative garnish for the dip.
  • If you like some food items that are not mentioned in the recipe, go ahead and add them and make the layered dip your own.
