The wedding or ring bearer's pillow is another decorative item for the wedding ceremony. It can be made in a variety of shapes and colors. You can decorate the pillow with ribbons, appliques or hand embroidery.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 to 1/2 yard satin or velvet cloth
  • 1/4-inch wide ribbon in matching color
  • Lace, pearl beading, cording of choice
  • Pillow form or stuffing
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Sewing machine (optional)
  1. Step 1

Measure and cut out two square, rectangle or heart shapes from cloth with a 1/2 inch seam allowance.

  2. Step 2

Pin the wrong sides of the cloth facing out.

  3. Step 3

Sew a short running stitch by hand or sewing machine around the pillow leaving a 4- to 5-inch opening.

  4. Step 4

    Turn right side out.

  5. Step 5

Take a crochet hook or the blunt end of a skewer and push the corners out.

  6. Step 6

Insert premade pillow form or stuffing. Pull small pieces of stuffing from the package and fill the corners first.

  7. Step 7

    Sew closed.

  8. Step 8

Pin lace trim around the top edge of the pillow. Sew by hand using small stitches to keep the lace smooth. Pay particular attention to the corners.

  9. Step 9

Make a 10- to 16-loop bow with satin ribbon. Use a piece of ribbon to tie the center for bow completion. Sew the bow to the pillow. There will be four ribbon tails hanging from bow. Tie decorative rings to the tails.
