Making chocolate valentine candy flowers is easy and cost effective given the high prices of specialty chocolates. With limited tools you can have professional results. This craft is easy to do with young children, too!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Melting chocolate
  • Zip top plastic bag
  • Scissor
  • Microwave oven
  • Rose or flower mold
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Cellophane wrapping and twist ties
  • Freezer
  • Vase
  • Flower arranging foam
  • Decorative ribbon
  1. Step 1

Place a handful of chocolate melting chips into the zip top bag. Microwave on high for two minutes.

  2. Step 2

Remove the bag and “squish” with your hands. If the chocolate is still hard or not completely melted, continue to microwave the chocolate at 15-second intervals until it is smooth and ready to mold.

  3. Step 3

Cutting a small corner from the zip top bag, squeeze the liquid chocolate into the molds. Use caution to not fill the molds too full. Gently tap the mold onto the table surface to remove air bubbles.

  4. Step 4

Place the Popsicle sticks into the flower mold, dipping them into the chocolate so as to cover the end of the sticks to set them into the candy piece.

  5. Step 5

Set the mold aside and allow the chocolate to firm up. To speed the process, place the mold into the freezer section of your refrigerator until the clear mold becomes cloudy. This usually happens within a few minutes.

  6. Step 6

Remove the chocolates from the mold with a simple tap onto the table’s surface allowing them to gently drop out of the mold.

  7. Step 7

Decorate the gift. If you’d like to continue to work with your candy for a special presentation you can wrap each flower individually in cellophane wrappers. Placing the foam into a vase, arrange the sticks into the foam so as to look like a flower arrangement. Finish the arrangement off with some decorative ribbon.
