How to Make a Rehearsal Bouquet From Bridal Shower Ribbons
The ribbon bouquet is a time-honored wedding tradition. Constructed at the bridal shower of ribbons collected from the presents, it's presented to the bride-to-be at the conclusion of the shower. The bride-to-be then uses it as a practice bouquet at the wedding rehearsal. This allows her to get accustomed to a bouquet--how to carry it, when to pass it to her maid of honor and when to accept it back again. The next time you're at a bridal shower, make sure to have a paper plate, scissors and tape on hand to create a colorful and fun ribbon bouquet.

1
Punch a hole in the middle of a large paper plate with scissors. The hole should be wide enough for several ribbons to easily fit through it. The hole can be always be made larger if there are more ribbons than originally anticipated.
-
2
Gather all the ribbons as the presents are opened. Regardless of the size or style of the ribbon, it can be incorporated into the rehearsal bouquet.

3
Work each individual ribbon through the hole in the plate. Ribbons that are a single strand work best for this. Curled ribbon can also be placed through the hole. To keep the ribbons from coming back through, tie a knot with the ribbons on the backside of the plate. If the hole is large, consider tying a small knot on the topside of the plate as well. This will keep the ribbons secure.
-
4
Bundle curled ribbons together and place them around the center of the plate. If there are many, you may cascade them down the sides of the plate. Try to arrange the ribbons in an artistic manner. Depending on the size of the plate, tape may be needed to secure the curled ribbons.
-
5
Place bows along the bottom side of the plate to cover it completely. If there are not enough bows to do this, don't worry. The cascading ribbons will cover up most of the plate.

Tips & Warnings
Choose a paper plate that is sturdy. Depending on the number of ribbons you use, a thick paper or polystyrene foam plate may be better suited for the project.
If you don't have scissors handy, the tines of a fork work well for making a hole.
Be careful not to injure yourself with the scissors when punching the hole.
