Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tile cleaner
  • Grout stain colorant
  • Small paintbrush
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Scouring pad
  1. Step 1

Clean tile and grout with a tile and grout cleaner designed for your type of tile. Allow tile and grout to dry for four hours.

  2. Step 2

Carefully paint grout lines with grout stain colorant using a small paint brush that is no wider than the grout line. Work on a small area at a time, removing any grout stain colorant that accidentally gets on the tile with a cleaning cloth.

  3. Step 3

Allow grout stain colorant to dry for a minimum of one hour or time specified on manufacturer's directions.

  4. Step 4

Apply a second coat of grout stain colorant using the same method as the first coat. Allow it to dry.

  5. Step 5

After grout is fully dry. Clean tile and grout with tile and grout cleaner again. If any grout stain colorant is on the tile, scrub gently with a scouring pad to remove.

  6. Step 6

Apply a grout sealant to protect grout and keep it looking new.

Tips & Warnings
  • Grout stain colorant comes in a wide variety of colors.
  • Wipe off any tile stain colorant that gets on tile as you go for easier removal.
  • Do not use grout stain colorant on unglazed tile. Unglazed tile will stain.
