Perspiration stains can ruin the look of an otherwise beautiful garment. The simplest way to deal with them is to prevent them in the first place by wearing a good antiperspirant. If you have clothes that are already stained, here's how remove perspiration stains and restore the beauty of your clothing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
The first step is to try pre-treating the perspiration stain by applying a liquid detergent to the spot. Allow it to remain on the area for at least twenty minutes before laundering it in the usual manner.
Step2
If the perspiration stain doesn't respond to pre-treating with detergent, add a tablespoon of white vinegar to a cup of water. Apply this solution to the stain and allow it to maintain contact with the fabric for twenty minutes before laundering as usual.
Step3
If neither steps one or two work, it's time to get out the hydrogen peroxide. Make a three percent hydrogen peroxide solution and dab it onto the stain using a sponge. Allow it to remain in contact with the stain for twenty minutes before laundering to remove perspiration stains.
Step4
Some fabrics may not be washable and are best left up to a dry cleaner to remove perspiration stains. Call their attention to the stains so they can give those areas specialized attention.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove perspiration stains promptly as they can ruin the fabric if allowed to remain.
