Building a model of a pyramid is a little bit tedious, but imagine how hard it was to build the real thing. It takes manual dexterity and quite a bit of patience. Here are instructions on how to make a model pyramid even the pharaohs would have liked.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10 boxes of sugar cubes
  • Hot glue gun with glue
  • Large Square wooden base
  • Gold spray paint
  • Brown Sugar
  • Elmer's Glue
  • Cheap paint brush
  1. Step 1

Begin by making the base of the pyramid on the wooden base you have. Glue sugar cubes with a very small amount of hot glue in a square.

  2. Step 2

Start the second layer by placing the next set of sugar cubes over the seams between the ones below (on the first row). Make this next row indented in comparison with the first by letting them overhang about half their width over the first row, bringing them in closer to the center than the row below.

  3. Step 3

Continue doing this pattern for every row after. The pyramid should gradually get smaller and smaller the higher up you go. Make sure you wait for the glue of each new row to dry, before adding one on top. Continue this until you can only place one sugar cube for the last row.

  4. Step 4

Spray paint the outside of the newly formed pyramid with the gold paint. It doesn't matter if it gets on the wooden base beneath, as you will be covering this up.

  5. Step 5

Once the spray paint on the pyramid has dried, brush elmer's glue onto the rest of the surface of the wooden base.

  6. Step 6

Before the elmer's glue has a chance to dry, sprinkle brown sugar over the base. This looks like sand. Make sure you cover the entire wooden base, right up to the bottom of the pyramid! Now stand back and admire your work.
