  1. Step 1

Locate the bathroom near the back of the house. It is best to plan out your home so that it represents a model of the human body.

  2. Step 2

Avoid having the bathroom door directly opposite the front door to prevent problems in energy movement and flow.

  3. Step 3

Avoid situating the bathroom next to the kitchen.

  4. Step 4

Be sure the window is not facing the door or the window to avoid a direct flow of energy that could be negative.

  5. Step 5

Have ample space between the bathtub and toilet.

  6. Step 6

Make sure the window is not directly opposite the door or behind the toilet, bathtub or sink.

  7. Step 7

Try to keep the bathroom and bedroom separate. If you are in a master bedroom, keep the door to the bathroom closed as often as possible.

on 11/22/2005 Try not to use Yin colours such as Black, Blue or Dark Grey for bathrooms. This has the ability to intensify the Yin energy that a bathroom emits. Opt instead for warm colours such as pastel peach, pink, lavender, yellow etc. Dark contrasts may have better impact but it may cause health problems, especially dampness related illnesses (arthritis, rheumatism) in future.

Try to also keep the toilet bowl cover closed when not in use. This helps to control the 'impure' energy from escaping into the environment.

Feng Shui is not about superstitions. It is an ancient art of harmonisation with our environment...
