Things You'll Need:
- Beds
- Dressers
- Lamps
- Nightstands
- Other Bedroom Furniture
-
Step 1
Place a low nightstand or low table to the right of the bed. The tiger is low to the ground and represents our readiness to spring into action when threatened.
-
Step 2
Place taller items such as shelves or tall dressers to the left of the bed. The dragon is high above the ground and symbolizes our wisdom and ability to reflect upon information.
-
Step 3
Keep the area at the foot of your bed clear. The phoenix, which represents our vision and inspiration, needs space to fly out ahead in order to examine the land and gather information.
-
Step 4
Place the head of the bed against a wall. The tortoise provides us with stability and security and ensures protection at our back.
-
Step 5
Place the bed so that you have clear sight of the door. However, avoid placing the bed directly opposite or against the same wall as the door. The idea is that you should be able to clearly see who is entering, but without being in the path of incoming energy.
-
Step 6
Try to avoid placing your bed right next to a window. The position of windows and doors governs the flow of energy throughout the room; therefore it is essential that you do not place yourself in its direct path.
-
Step 7
Avoid placing a mirror directly opposite the door, the window or your bed. A mirror placed in the path of energy will bounce back the energy with more intensity.
-
Step 8
Avoid placing the bed under beams in the ceiling. Beams will push down on the flow of energy, which creates a downward force that consequently puts pressure on your chest, head and body.
-
Step 9
Avoid situating a light directly over the bed. Instead, place the light beside the bed.

on 9/24/2009 And unless you are pregnant, please remove every thing from under your bed. Energy (Chi) should be able to flow around you during the night to support restful sleep.

on 7/11/2008 Can someone email me the answer to my question? What determines North in my apartment? The earth's Northern hemisphere or the front door of my apartment? Also, in my apartment, entry doorways are in the corner of each room with a closet on one wall and across from it is the window. There is only one way to setup the bed and dresser mirror where the bed is facing the corner doorway and the mirrored dressor is opposit the bed on the same wall as the doorway. Any ideas on how to setup with this limited room configuration?

on 9/13/2007 I recently became very interested in Feng Shui, after I have discovered that a room we have upstairs that I was using few month per year as a bedroom was literally making me ill. It was getting me lots of nausea, vertigos and low energy. I have read about it and I have discovered it is the three beams on my ceiling. I do not know if the pyramidal shape of the whole room contribute to it, can anyone tell me? And more importantly, can anyone tell me why my body was reacting so strongly to the whole beam exposure and my bf has no real pain or problems in getting sleep in that room. Can bad energy attack only some of us? I know for sure it is about the beams and the whole Feng Shui principles cause whenever I sleep in that room I get very ill, whereas sleeping in other parts of my house does not get me so much problem.

on 6/18/2007 when using the five animal template, does "to the left of the bed" mean while looking at the bed or from the position of being on the bed and looking out? thanks!
