How to Clean Mascara Stains
Virtually all women want to look as though they have long, thick and full eyelashes. Most of us, however, do not come by them naturally. This is where mascara comes in. It leaves a woman with gorgeous-looking eyes, but that beauty often comes with a price--mascara stains. Follow these steps if you need help removing mascara from clothing or other fabrics. Things You'll Need
- Water
- Fels Naptha Soap
- Laundry detergent
- Shaving cream
- Club soda, optional
- Soft cloth or towel for blotting

Clean Mascara Stains with Fels Naptha Soap

Thoroughly wet the mascara stain.

Moisten the Fels Naptha soap.

Rub the bar of soap onto the stain working up a good lather. You can even use an old toothbrush for this.

Let the soiled item sit for a while so that the Fels Naptha can penetrate the stain.

Launder the stained item as usual.

Repeat Steps 1 through 6 if the stain remains after washing. It's normal for it to take a couple of launderings to completely remove the stain.

Wet the stain.

Apply a generous shot of shaving cream to the stain.

Work the shaving cream into the spot.

Allow the shaving cream to sit on the stain for a few minutes

Rinse with water or club soda.

Blot dry if you're cleaning a mascara stain on carpet. Launder the item as usual if you are treating a mascara stain on clothing.

Tips & Warnings
Fels Naptha brand soap is a heavy duty laundry soap that's been around for over 100 years.
You can often find Fels Naptha soap in either the bar soap or laundry detergent sections of your supermarket.
Don't put the item in the dryer if the stain remains after washing. Instead, treat it again with Fels Naptha and re-wash it.
Make sure to use foam shaving cream instead of a gel shaving cream.
