on 8/21/2006 Make sure the room is well ventilated. The fumes from the Goof-Off are overwhelming.

on 6/30/2006 Our church was putting down carpet and a worker tracked green carpet glue over the carpet (it wasn't noticed till the next day). We were able to remove the glue with a product called Goof-Off. We just wet the corner of a rag and scrubbed it off. Worked great!

on 11/22/2005 Use lighter fluid directly on the glue area, rubbing gently with a towel (don't use a sponge, lighter fluid will dissolve some sponges), adding small amounts of lighter fluid frequently. I have yet to find a glue that lighter fluid will not dissolve. It even dissolves Crazy Glue. Lighter fluid is great for taking labels off of glass, too. Soak the label with lighter fluid and let set for 5 minutes (add more fluid as needed). Wash the items with soap and water to remove the lighter fluid. I have used this on carpet, suede, wood, a car, skin, and every fabric I can think of. I have never had anything ruined using this. Lighter fluid also makes a great Wite-Out thinner. Simply add 2-3 drops to the bottle and shake well.

on 11/22/2005 I had glue on carpet, an old stain about 2 in. wide, and cutting it out wasn't an option. I got a large bottle of vinegar, poured it on the carpet, let it soak, and used an upholstery tool to suck it up. It totally dissolved the glue. Looks good as new.
