Instructions

    • 1
Know the parts of your Ryobi table saw.

Practice safety first. Make sure you are using an outlet that accepts a three-prong grounded plug, and use the table saw with all the safety features attached. Push blocks and sticks come with the purchase of a new Ryobi table saw, and you must use them to prevent injury to hands and fingers. Know the working parts of your saw.

    • 2

Adjust the blade by turning the handwheel in either direction to raise or lower the blade, adjusting it to the thickness of the board you’re cutting. You may engage the bevel mode by pressing the bevel-locking lever and turning the handwheel to the angle you desire.

    • 3

Make mitered cuts by releasing the slide bolt found on the front side of the table saw and adjusting the miter base. Be sure to keep your fingers away from the base to avoid pinched skin. After adjusting the base, lock it into position with the slide bolt.

    • 4

Cut precisely measured boards by moving the rip fence to the desired position, using the scale on the front edge of the table saw. Using a regular tape measure, double-check to make sure your measurement is correct.

    • 5

Place a push block on top of large sheets of plywood or other sheet boards and hold it firmly in place while you guide the board through the saw. Very large boards require removal of the rip fence so they can sit flat on the saw top.

    • 6

Start the saw before you put your board into position. The saw blade must reach full speed or the board may jerk, ruining the cut and creating a hazard. Push the board through smoothly, keeping your fingers well away from the blade area.

    • 7

Ask an assistant to grab a large board when it extends to the opposite side, in order to stabilize it and keep it level.

Tips & Warnings

  • All table saws are dangerous, and you must keep your fingers and other body parts away from the blade.

  • A knot in a board can make the table saw jump, resulting in a jerked board and a possible hazard. Make sure you are paying attention every second the saw is in operation and are prepared to react to board jumps.

  • Keep children out of the area where a table saw is in operation.

If I can't find someone to do a little project for me, I'm going to use your instructions and make it myself. My saw is not a Ryobi but I think it might be similar. Thanks.
